FAQ

Common questions

If your question isn't answered here, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want a space to talk things through, therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit — many people come to therapy for personal growth, clarity, or support through a life transition. The free initial consultation is a great way to explore whether it feels right for you.

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask about what's brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to get from it, and a little about your background. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. We'll also talk about how we might work together going forward.

This varies from person to person. Some people find that 6–12 sessions gives them what they need; others prefer longer-term work. We'll review how things are going regularly and you're always free to end or pause therapy when you feel ready.

Yes — confidentiality is fundamental to therapy. Everything you share stays between us, with very limited exceptions (for example, if there were serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others). I'll explain these limits clearly at the start of our work together.

I offer a limited number of reduced-fee places for people who would otherwise be unable to access therapy. Please mention this when you get in touch and we can discuss what might be possible.

Yes — I offer online sessions via a secure, confidential video platform. Online therapy is just as effective as in-person work for most people, and many clients prefer the flexibility and comfort of connecting from home.

I deliver face-to-face sessions in Southsea. Please get in touch to discuss location details.
